Steps to perform for Rolling Forward a Physical Standby Database using RMAN Incremental Backup

1)In this procedure I would like to know  and understand what is the consequence/scenario if we restore the control file first which is backed up from the primary  in the standby database ,? before we have recovered the database.,

2) what is the solution to resolve? in my scenario I was getting an error when I try to restore the DB from SCN incremental back up pieces (the error says datafile 1 requires to be recovered)
