Install, Upgrade, Clone, Patch - EBS (MOSC)

rapid install filesystems seperate App and DB nodes

Hi,

I'm in the very early stages (research/planning) of upgrading a 12.1.3 EBS instance running on an 11.2.0.3 database to 12.2.5 on a 12.1.0.2 DB.

As with many EBS installations I have a separate server for the applications and database.

I've downloaded the software and startCD51 and created my staging area (NFS disk available to both nodes) inclusive of the database software.

All the doc I've read talks about using rapid install to establish the upgrade filesystems but seems to assume a single node installation.

rapiwiz isn't presenting a database only option for installing the just database software....

Should I be using the runInstaller found in the ....staging/TechInstallMedia/database/database/ directory for the database install?
