Compatibility of Multiple Excel Add-ins

We upgraded Smart View to 11.1.2.5.410(build 015).  Our users are also upgrading to Office 2013.  Now when they open a file in Excel with another addin, Excel crashes if the Smart View add-in is loaded.  They have to disable the Smart View COM add-in before opening any other files containing a different add-in.  Is there any way around having to disable the Smart View add-in?
