Validation Account in HFM

Could someone please comment or confirm on my understanding about Validation Account in HFM.This is my assumption based on a recent issue we had while locking data.However would like to confirm on the same before research.

Entity LOCK in HFM expect or look for all the value dimension members of a Validation account to be ZERO.However the Process control (to PASS/FAIL validation)  look only the Value Total to be ZERO (Ex - Entity Curr Total/ USD Total,etc) ??

Issue:

There was an Entity with Validation Account , EQUAL TO ZERO at Entity Curr Total.However Entity currency and Entity Curr Adjs had value.
