REST Webservices developed using Jersey 1. 8 are not working in WLS 12.2.1. They were successfully tested and working fine in WLS 12.1.3

any one tried using jersey 1.8 on weblogic 12.2.1? Documentatios says it is backward compatible but getting error as below for multiple classes:

<Jun 1, 2016 11:28:40 AM EDT> <Warning> <JAXRSIntegration> <devwls1.health.state.ny.us> <CCH_ManagedServer_1> <[ACTIVE] ExecuteThread: '4' for queue: 'weblogic.kernel.Default (self-tuning)'> <<WLS Kernel>> <> <8f369907-9cef-42d2-aca6-511ff8732c10-00000007> <1464794920151> <[severity-value: 16] [rid: 0] [partition-id: 0] [partition-name: DOMAIN] > <BEA-2192510> <Cannot add Jersey servlet for application class com.sun.jersey.api.core.ScanningResourceConfig because ApplicationPath annotation is not set on it.>
