AUD$ is growing abnormally

Hi,

I have migrated my production environment from Oracle 11.1.0.6 to 11.2.0.4 (Redhat Linux 5.3 to OEL 6.4) almost two months back in primary-standby architecture with real time apply. I have observed that AUD$ table has grown dramatically(122210012 rows) and 18.5 GB in size, which seems to be abnormal to me and also seen a lot of insert operations going on all the times. Also seen as a hot segment in AWR with high percentage of physical reads. I believe this is also impacting database performance. So I want to purge/truncate this table to claim the space and also performance tuning.
