HOW TO RECORD CUSTOMER WISE PROVISIONS (DOUBTFUL DEBTS) USING ORACLE AR MODULE

We have a business requirement to record customer wise provisions in Oracle AR Module. This will not affect receivable balance, but will allow us to track customer wise doubtful debts for individual risks analysis. Is there a way to record this within Oracle AR Module. Can we use different transaction type (not affecting receivables) to record provisions.

Please advise.
