JD Edwards E1 Service ending as virus definitions are loaded

For JD Edwards EnterpriseOne, Rel 9.1, Tools 9.1.5.7, Oracle DB 11g 11.2.0.4,  WebLogic 10.3.5.0, Windows Server 2008 R2, Symantec Endpoint Protection V 12.1.4112.4156

The E1 Service stops due to some error and the logs that I read do not tell me much because the E1 Service has stopped.  What I do see are events in the Windows Event Viewer that point to a .dll associated with Symantec anti-virus (UMEngx86.dll).  The last Event Viewer message I see indicates that Symantec was updating virus definitions. ( New virus definition file loaded. Version: 160613009.)

The event viewer shows many messages like this one:

Faulting application name: jdenet_k.exe, version: 1.0.0.1, time stamp: 0x5625c261

Howdy, Stranger!
