API Programming Error from Core Inventory InsertSerial routine

While loading one install base item record, first we got the error of "item is not Installed Base Trackable", hence we made the attribute checked in the Item Attribute setup post doing a misc issue of on hand quantity. Post that when we tried to reprocess the record through Install Base Open Interface, we now got the error of "API Programming Error from Core Inventory InsertSerial routine".

Any idea what is causing this issue? Are we missing any step post misc issue and attribute change?

Or is this something else?

Please share your expertise and experience with this error.
