Error: Asset Number - Select a valid value

User is trying to save the work order but getting error message 'Asset Number - Select a valid value'. The value is correct and if the user select the same asset again from pop up list of values then he can save the work order but if user again press the save button he gets the error message again.

Please note that we just upgraded from 12.1.3 to 12.2.4 and issue was not reported on 12.1.3

I have attached the issue detail screen shots also.
