Can you set up a base price record based on Item/Customer Group and then do Advanced Pricing off of

I set up a complex price group based on two Customer Master Category Codes and then used that to create a New Base Price Record for and Item and the new customer group.  I assigned the price group to the appropriate customer.  There was already a base price record defined for the item only (The Base Price preference hierarchy is set to look at Item/Customer Group and then Item/All Customers).  An advanced pricing rule was set up using the same Customer Price group and the Associated Item Price group for the item being selected to give a 10% discount off
