Email notification includes Java client link not Web client

All of our users access Agile with the web client.

I have a change analyst that made a comment on an ECO and included 2 users to notify.

The email notification sent included a link to the object but it was via the Java client not the web client.

I've never seen this happen before.  Any ideas why the link would switch like that?  All comments before and after from this analyst have been as expected with the web client in link.
