JDeveloper 12.1.3 and JDK 1.8 compatibility

I installed the JDeveloper 12.1.3 (generic version) on my Windows 2012 R2 Deployment Server. This server has a 32-bit JDK v1.8.0_60 which is a supported version for TR 9.2.0.3.

But while the installation was successful, post-install of JDeveloper and trying to start it throws this message regarding JDK version being un-supported.

Do I need to downgrade the JDK version from 1.8 to 1.7 now?

Please suggest.
