Why does P41271 use a join with F4101 instead of F4102 which is branch specific?

The information on F4102 is not necessarily what was put on the item master F4101.  Why would anyone use the item master for an inventory valuation program (OneView) when the category codes including the GL class could be different by branch plant.  It makes the extract useless when trying to do groupings by category code.
