EPM Migration

I have 2 questions concerning EPM migrations:

1) Can the instructions in Oracle note "How to Migrate an EPMA Planning Application Using LCM (Doc ID 1202463.1)" be used for the following: export an EPMA Planning application and related artifacts out of EMP 11.1.2.3, then perform a "find and replace" within the exported files to change the Planning application name, then import into the same 11.1.2.3 environment as if it were a new EPMA Planning application? This would be to simulate a migration while only using one environment. This note indicates that it applies to versions 11.1.1.0.00 to 11.1.1.3.00.

2) Can the instructions in Oracle note "How to Migrate EPMA Applications between two Environment (of different versions) when LCM fails (
