Genrating better execution plans

Hello Oracle Gurus,

I face sql performance issues on a daily basis...and i generally use sqltuning advisor for generating new plans or sometime dbms_sqldiag...and all the docs below.Sql tuning advisor does not always come with a better execution plans and rarely i get something out of dbms_sqldiag Doc ID 1386802.1.We have many sql perf issues on new sqls introduced in weekly basis so many times i dont have a historical good execution plans to use as a baseline.

I am really interested in knowing more ways to produce better execution plans using some automated utilities
