cXML for inbound invoices and XML Gateway

From my research it looks like Oracle  XML Gateway doesn't support cXML format for incoming Invoices, only OAG.  Is is possible to customize inbound invoices to use cXML?  Would this be a difficult task for an experienced EBS programmer who has little experience with XML Gateway?
