Create documents from script

I have seen an example script from Oracle about creating documents that get added to the BOM of a parent document.  So for example if I created DOC123 when I saved it child documents DOC123-1 would be created and added to the BOM of DOC123.  My question is if anyone has also made the script add in a description.  For us the description for the Child would always be the same.
