Closed stores and items out of range in RDF

Dear experts,

Could you, please, tell me how previously open stores with sales history, but now closed for good, should be treated in RDF? Should they be just removed from the loc hierarchy or is it possible to get any benefit if to keep them in loc hierarchy? 

The same question is about items which are not in range any more and are absent in the all stores.
