why only one org can be chose when the EAM domain was set up in 2 orgs?

Hi Gurus:

here i have 2 questions i would like to ask you:

1.when i set up an maintenance domain at in 2 orgs( 111,112 was maintained in EAM) , why can't i chose the correspondent orgs in EAM org when creating a new asset number?

2.if i choose 112 org when creating an asset number  in EAM org,  what's the  effect of that? is that only for recongnize what the asset belongs to or it will have some other effect in other module like FA?
