Options for routinely archiving/moving historical HFM apps to other DBs (Essbase, EAL, etc.)

Every year, we create a new HFM application.

The previous year's app stays on the servers in case of an internal or external audit, and so users can run reports using older org charts, if needed.

The question has come up in our organization:  Are there any options to move the app, or its data, to other databases?

I have searched on this subject, and all I can find is the Oracle Product EAL (Essbase Analytics Link), which allows users to query an Essbase DB that is linked to an HFM app.

But I hear that the source HFM DB must always be linked to EAL, so it's not really an option that allows us to remove the historical HFM apps.

Howdy, Stranger!
