Encryption of existing database in Exadata System

We have a requirement to encrypt existing database to satisfy requirement of encrypting data at rest. While going through the white papers, it seems the recommended method of encrypting data in Exadata is to use TDE.

Is it possible to encrypt the Exadata Storage Cells hard disks before adding them to ASM?
