Is Online patching mandatory for r12.2 upgrade

Hi ,

    Currently we are on 12.1.3. We are in initial evaluation phase for r12.2 upgrade. We don't want to use the features available with online patching for few reasons

(a) We have lot of customization on 12.1 which are not compliant with online patching standards.More work for us to get the customization to make it work with online patching if we decide to upgrade to 12.2

(b) We don't mind the downtime window for applying patches.

 

So our question is , can we upgrade to 12.2.5 from 12.1 without enabling online patching so we don't have to change our custom code to adhere to the standards required for online patching.
