Linux Disk Space Issue

edited Jul 21, 2016 5:02AM in Linux Operating System (MOSC) 3 commentsAnswered

Folks,

We are running 64-bit Oracle Linux 5.8 machine with ext3 file system. We have created some drives like /u01, /d01 and so on. Our /d01 drive has 100GB space allocated and now it showing 80GB used while 20G available. However, if we execute 'du -hs' within /d01 is return 38G only as the used space, while df -h displays 80GB used. We are bit confused that where the remaining space is consuming?

BR,
