Installed Base Flags - Sellable Flag

I have tried looking for the information on the below flags (Specially the 'Sellable_Flag) used in Installed Base. However I need a better understanding of these. Has anyone used these before and what is the impact of them on the functionality. Appreciate if there are any inputs.

SELLABLE_FLAGVARCHAR2(1)Flag that indicates if this instance is sellable
CUSTOMER_VIEW_FLAGVARCHAR2(1)Flag that indicates if this is as per a customer definition
MERCHANT_VIEW_FLAGVARCHAR2(1)Flag that indicates if this is as per a merchant definition
