what are the benefits of increasing the Java heap settings?

Hi All,

1. we are planning to increase the java heap settings as part of performance tuning, please find the below specifications and advise us the suitable Xms and Xmx parameters. We are planning to increase Xms to 2048MB and Xmx to 4096MB(no change)

2. Please advise me on the benefits of increasing the Java heap settings? do we have any issues if we keep the Xms and Xmx as it is mentioned below(with out any changes)
