Is the following list of differences between DG and ADG complete and accurate?
Hi,
My customer has asked me about the differences between active dataguard (ADG) and dataguard (DG). He has drawn up his understanding of the differences, but would like confirmation that this list is complete and correct:
FEATURE | DG | ADG | New 12c Option |
REPLICATION | |||
Data Guard Transport Services; Primary database replication via transmission of redo logs | Y | Y
Asynchronous replication | Y | Y
Synchronous replication | Y | Y
Fast Sync - acknowledgement sent from standby once redo in memory rather than to disk in the case of synchronous replication | Y | Y | Y |
Redo Apply Service | Y | Y | |
Continuous Data Protection - stand-by recognises when failover has occurred from the primary to local-standby and switches replication to the new primary |
