Excel 2 CI of Asset Management and date importance

Dear All

How much important is system date is when incorporating assets via excel 2 ci template in asset management module. What I mean to ask is if today's date is 25th of July 2016, will the asset be uploaded with the values assumed to be as of 1st of July 2016 i.e. system date prevails and we need to provide the accumulated depreciation as of 30th June 2016 in the required column of excel 2 ci or not.

Explaining the scenario a bit further assume it's now 01st of August so the values to be uploaded assumed by the system for the accumulated depreciation will it consider it to be 30th June 2016 values or 31st July 2016 values.
