Expand /tmp on VM Suggestions

Greetings!

I am using a virtualized ODA running several OL 6 VMs. I would like to have the /tmp expanded in each of the VMs. It is part of root now and is not large enough for our purposes. Root has only 6 GB available.

I was thinking of using volcreate -G DATA, making and ACFS filesystem for /tmp and removing the existing /tmp in root.

Is this a good idea?
