Can a deposit be adjusted via an API?

Hi,

We have a need to create a deposit via API which I believe is addressed in the below note. However, in addition to creating a deposit, we also have a need to adjust the Deposit by a certain amount (a form of discount). This can be achieved in two ways.

1) Adjust Deposit

2) Create Credit Memo and apply it on Deposit

Since we need a completely automated solution, can anyone of you suggest means to achieve this? Thanks in advance.
