ATO items and implementation issue

Wondering how other people have gotten around this. Hard to believe this is unique to us. So EMO is our OM validation org. CHI is a source org to W01. W01 will be where iStore looks to see on hand availability etc. In EMO and CHI an item is considered an ATO item. In W01 the same item is considered a buy or sourced item. However we are being told by the implementation partner that this is an issue for iStore...that the item is ATO in the OM validation org. Any thoughts on how to get around this? We are
