Completing Work Orders- Actual Start Date

Hi,

I am new to EAM and i been searching to find which date will be defaulted for 'Actual Start Date' date while completing the WO. For few its taking current system date and for few its taking the date from WO operations 'Actual Start Date'. But why its not taking the transaction date happened for the WO as its 'Actual Start Date'. Its really confusing can anyone help me out.
