URL monitoring - troubleshooting URL issues

Hi,

We have issues where the URL will be showing as down in EM but the target is actually up and serving content.

We currently use 3 different methods to troubleshoot URL issues in EM:

- run  a curl or wget from an EM beacon sever - this produces a lot of output, but we are not sure if EM is using similar commands

- try to pull the URL in a browser from peoples desktops and from other servers

- do a manual test in EM - Service Tests and Beacons ( right click URL in EM -> Administration -> Service Tests and Beacons) - this does not produce detailed output, just an up or down status
