Service Start Date is auto populated

When creating contracts from Sales Order in R12.1.3, I find that the Service Start Date is auto populated with Sysdate. However, in in R12.2.4 - Service Start Date is not being autopopulated with Sysdate.

The user is required to populate it manually.

I have checked - There are no personalization in both environments.

Any pointers to what is driving this functionality ?

- Pls let me know if a profile handles this.
