Reversing A Product to Materials

Hello Experts,

There is an item called A which is produced in a batch subsequently sells to the customer.When a customer returns the item due to a defect,company intends to re-use the main material component and some of the packing materials by breaking the product again.How to implement this scenario in OPM?Should i create a batch with necessary cost allocation factors set?
