P98950 User Override Custom Grid - *PUBLIC

I am on 9.1 and trying to create a global custom grid for P4072/W4072B/Verxxx

I created the custom grid. I then went into P98950 and copied the UO=GF record to *PUBLIC. I copied application/version.

When I logged on as my user Role, success. The grid defaults to the customized format.

When I assume the role of another user, success.

When that same user/role logs onto E1, unsuccessful. The fields displayed are in the correct order, however, the sequencing is not.

How can that be? Both the arrangement of fields and sequencing are a part of the same customized grid.
