How to decide the number of workers while applying a patch

Hi Everyone,

Could you please let us know,

  1. How to decide the number of workers in Oracle Enterprise Linux while applying a patch (at the time of upgrade to 12.2.5).
  2. Is such the patch fast/slow depends on the workers - if we give more number of workers. Please advice.
  3. Because we are applying 12.2.0 American dirver patch, it almost took 18 hours and still it is running.
  4. Please find our configuration.

We have 8 CPU's. 16GB RAM. Because of 8 CPU's i have given no.of workers as 12.

Please advice on this.
