Single Node Oracle Database on a clustered GPFS

Hi,

We are planning to install a single node oracle database (11gR2) on a server with GPFS configured for a 2-node cluster. Is this possible and will there be any performance issue on this setup?

Basically  this is our problem:

We have 2 servers with GPFS configured for clustered storage. We initially planned to implement a 2-node RAC but due to several issues, we decided we'll just proceed in installing just a single node on one of the servers but our 3rd party implementor is saying that this is not possible or the stability of the system is not guaranteed.

PS: Can we submit this kind of issue as SR?
