BN Rule- OTM

Ver: 6.3.1

I have OR BN rule with predefined format as XX-{nnnnnnnn:start=00000000} (here XX is hardcoded word) since 5 yrs and it is working fine. This was for the BN Type :ORDER_RELEASE_XID_STANDALONE  and for BN Type:ORDER_RELEASE_XID it was set to default: PO line ID-{nnn} . Recently customer has requested to move the same format:XX-{nnnnnnnn:start=00000000}  for BN Type:ORDER_RELEASE_XID something similar to ORDER_RELEASE_XID_STANDALONE.

Any pointers how to do it- any restart ofservers, cache clearing? We tried to update the Rule definition for second required BN rule and it did nto work and it is throwing erro as "BN Rule exhausted".
