Parent Assets in Oracle Assets R12

Dear Team,

I have a requirement to track child components with regards to parent Assets.

So can i add a parent to a child asset.I would like to understand are there any implications if i setup this relationship.My goal is to just keep track,and carry all other stuffs like depreciation,retirement as usual.

2nd Option: I go for a Asset level DFF with list of assets to tag as parent.
