Hyperion 11.1.2.4 Installer is not recognizing 11.1.2.3 install

Any idea why the 11.1.2.4 Maintenance release show it's a new install instead when there is an existing 11.1.2.3 install. It happening to Essbase Server but other servers went thru' just fine. we are on windows.
