non ping transaction timeout error

While the option ping is working fine on the session agent (200 OK back), the SBC mark the SA out of service because it receive a non ping transaction timeout error .   If I put "trans-timeouts=0" option on the session agent to ignore non ping transaction timeout, would the sbc still mark the session agent in of service if it doesn't get option ping response?

What is the relationship between option ping and transaction timeout?
