Discounts with the Root Product Scope

HI All, We have a Requirement to provide Discount on a Component based on the combination of Other components in a Root Product. We have done this through Aggregate Discounts. But the catch here is the Same Root product can be taken more than once in a Order so, we are having the difficulties in constrainting that to a Root Product. So, Planing to extend the Agregate discounts to get the scope of CP inside that. Posting here to check if there some one handled the requirement in a different way.
