Configurator Back order

Hi,

I have setup configurator and when I create the sales order and run the pick slips program all my child items/components goes on backorder inspite having quantity available for the child items.

I know availability checking do not happen on parent through Configurator constants but then why when i run the pick slips the child items going on back order.

Does it mean i should not run pick slips or turn off the hard commitment from pick slip PO.

Please suggest.
