Lots about to expire should be prevented from order entry

Gurus,

We maintain shelf life for our lot controlled items. If a sales rep is creating a sales order with a lot controlled item that is about to expire, a notification is expected about the lot expiry. Is this possible in a standard way?

R12.2.5/OPM environment.
