Date Place in service Change for a Asset

Hello Guys,

We have situation where the user have given three assets (During Cut-over) with wrong date place in services. And the assets are already depreciated in this financial year for 4 months

Assets are originally purchased in 2014 and the given year is 2012. The periods are closed upto July 2016.

What is the best options to correct this error?

1. Can we do a asset retirement for the cut-over date?

2. Or do a date place in service change
