sales order line number split

Sales order having line # 1.000 for 20 Qty and they shipping it partial and line split into 1.100,1.200.....what will be line after line 1.900 its going to 2.000 if line 2.000 is already there it jumps to 2.100. If this is the case, how the line # 1.000 item will fall under line 2.000 item. Will that make sense? Is this already an issue .Need the your advice.

We are in JDE World A9.3
