Return of OSP item after Discrete Work Order closed, during prior fiscal month?

Anyone know how to return an OSP item after the related Discrete Work Order has been closed (during the prior fiscal month)?

Here the situation:

• User created a PO linked to a Discrete Work Order, for an OSP item
• WO Released
• PO Cut
• Item received on PO
• WO Closed
• Fiscal month closed

User now realizes the receipt should have been on a diff't PO, to a diff't Supplier.

Attempted to process return or correction to PO Receipt; System can't "see" original receipt records to process against (Err msg APP-PO-14094: No records meet your search criteria), although it can display them if you're doing a simple "View Receiving Transactions" query against the database (screenshot attached).
