OVM 3.4.1 deleting a vnic fails

in Oracle VM (OVM) (MOSC) Question

Deleting a VNIC from a VM fails with the cryptic message "Job failed on Core: No such object (level 1), cluster is null: <23407>".  The googles turn up nothing, nor does a search of Oracle Support.  Anyone else seen this?
