explain plan - what you should not see

oracle 11.2.0.4

RAC - 4 nodes

DB size 42 TB - lots of daily/monthly partition tables

I am looking for easy to understand a explain plan document or  guideline that explain how you should read an Oracle SQL explain plan , i.e. full table scan for a huge table is not good, certain type of index look up, hash etc.
